La Gomera Ethnographic Museum
La Gomera Ethnographic Museum (Las Hoyetas, Carretera General, Piedra Romana) – this museum is within an old manor house, which provides visitors with info on the unique culture & traditions of the island (with translations in English and German) and also doubles as a handicraft center. Foodies may want to drop in the Gofio Mill Museum (closed Sundays) to see how gofio – a mixed grain Canarian flour – is made and buy some to take home. The museums are in the San Pedro neighborhood where you can see traditional Canarian architecture dating from the 18th century and a 16th century Dominican convent. Admission: €2.50 per person. Hours: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm & 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm (weekdays).
