Los Órganos National Park
Los Órganos National Park (Vallehermoso) – it is certainly a mission getting to this site, but is worth the effort, especially for eco-tourists venturing into the north coast of Vallehermoso. Drivers exit the CV-16 road near Epina on a narrow gravel road towards Tazo and Arguamul, After driving another 8 kilometers, there’s a small church (Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Coromoto). From there, hikers can explore the area.
The natural monument of Los Órganos is a cliff of very ancient volcanic rocks, whose cooling and subsequent erosion of the island has given such characteristic silhouettes in the form of organ pipes vertically falling down to the sea – hence the name. The site was declared a national park in 1981 and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.
