Vallehermoso – this is the main town of the island’s second largest municipality (located toward the northern end of the island), with a modest population of 3,000 inhabitants. It is a quaint village with a central square where the town hall and a few supermarkets are found.
The beauty of this town comes a lot from its history of agriculture. In the local gardens, you can see the delicious tropical fruit trees and plants. There are bananas, papayas and apricots to name a few. The local fruit that is grown here can normally be brought in a small market hall just off from the main square. Just a short drive from the main square of Vallehermoso is the Playa de Vallehermoso, a small beach that is now home to swimming pools and a few locals selling refreshments & locally made goods.
